AVON (J&J) - Suspected "Masked Corn Bandit" apprehended near apparent target Wednesday evening. Chief Gardener Jim said "While we cannot be sure this perpetrator has been working alone, we do know that he was caught in the vicinity of a corn crop that has been attacked repeatedly over the past 30 days". It was determined that charges would not be filed against "Rocky" as the locals have taken to calling this bandit Raccoon. Instead, an experimental relocation program was put into effect. Rocky had no comment about the relocation but seemed very happy to be released at an undisclosed location after being warned to "get out of town and not come back".
If Rocky is found within 100 feet of the now decimated corn patch in the future charges will be filed. According to Chief Gardener Jim "we are probably looking at 123 counts of corn stalk destruction, 49 counts of partial corn cob eating and at least 8 counts of ignoring an electric fence".
